“Being a Conservative is no longer tantamount to admitting a mortal sin. Here at BUCF we are living proof of the direction that this party is taking under David Cameron’s leadership. Our membership is broad and diverse, we welcome and encourage policitcal activism but we also emphasise the need to be what we are: potential politicians yes, but students first and foremost. We recognise that a political society does not have to be all about politics. It should be about politically minded people getting together, having fun and contributing at points during the year to the continued success of our party, be it through debating or campaigning. Here at BUCF we pride ourselves in our diversity and our standard of events. Our events have ranged from prominent speeches from the likes of Boris Johnson, Michael Portillo and David Cameron, to trips to Alton Towers, the Casino or just the pub for a casual drink! The tide is turning, the Conservatives are heading home and by becoming a part of BUCF you can make a real difference as well as making your time a uni a time to remember.”
